I have a 1999 Lincoln Towncar that is leaking water into the interior but we can't figure where it is coming from. I have had the bottom plugs sealed up with silicone and had it dried out once. We found that the floorboard plugs were out so figured that was how the floorboard became wet the first time so we got it all dried out and sealed the floor plugs with silicone so they wouldn't come out again.
Now three weeks later, I find that the floorboards have water in them again! When I notice this yesterday, it came to my attention because the windshield had dew all over it at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, but it was all on the inside of the windshield. I opened the car and looked all around to see if I could tell where it might be leaking but the seats were completely dry and the dash was dry as far as I could tell. The only place wet was on the floorboards mainly on the passenger side. Does anyone have any idea of what we need to check for next?? Thanks:(:(:confused::confused::confused:

Take a wire and unclog the A/C drain tube, going to the evaporator coil. Condensate has backed up and is overflowing on the passenger's side of the car. Look for the drain tube on the passenger's side of the firewall. A lot of water may gush out. Simple job.

Thanks for the help TXGreaseMonkey, but since I am a complete novice on cars, where is the firewall? I am assuming underneath the dash somewhere... I will sure try to do what you have advised to try, if I can figure it out. I will keep you posted of my progress. Thanks again.

Okay, I drained the hose and some did come out. I noticed that this morning there was still the dew all on the inside of the front windshield again. I guess that is going to happen until I get it all dried out though. I guess I'll work on drying it out now. If this doesn't fix it, where else could it possibly be leaking from? My 1999 Lincoln Towncar has one of those fake convertible cloth roofs. Are they prone to leaking? It looks like a convertible roof but is actually hard just like a hard top.

That should take care of it, once everything dries out. Open the windows and park the car in the sun.

If the heater was leaking, you could easily identify the fluid as antifreeze.

Well, I had the car doors opened on 2 windy days and got it pretty well dried out, but was wet again this morning, about 1 inch. It had rained a little, so I wonder if maybe the windshield is leaking? I don't see any evidence of wetness anywhere except the floors of the car. I'm sure I cleaned out the A/C drain tube well. Got any other ideas as to where else to check for this leak? I don't detect any antifreeze smell, just water. Thanks

Check the condition of window and door seals. It's good to apply silicone spray to all gaskets twice a year, in order to prevent deterioration. Use a hose to locate the leak.

I am still trying to figure out where my car is leaking from the interior somewhere. I have a 1999Lincoln Town. I have had the AC drain tube professionally blown out. I have checked the antifreeze and it is not leaking. I have checked and oiled all the door and window seals and they are fine. I park the car under a carport but it is still leaking or getting water in the floorboards of the car only. What should I do or check now to try to get this leak fixed?? Thanks
