Obama looks like he's going to be swept into office by a landslide. There is a very good chance that the Dems will wind up with 60 senate seats - meaning they can do anything they want, and the Republicans can't do a thing about it.

Of course, they'll keep the house...

What do YOU think about that?

What terrible things can the Dems do, besides what we've already heard, like communism, Marxism, terrorism, or socialism?

What great things could happen?

I think a total victory would last 2 years until the 2010 midterms... unless the Democrats pass a new version of the Incumbent Protection act... oops I mean Campaign Finance Reform that Obama so effectively destroyed in this campaign.

I think a super-majority would mean in effect that Obama would be a care-taker President and policy would come from Madam Mimi and Harry Reid.

I'm a half full kind of guy too. But, I'm confused by your reply... Actually, George W. Bush, the dufus in chief, ruined the country. At least three quarters of Americans think so. You're probably one of the few Bushies left.

I think a 60 seat filibuster-proof majority is probable. Stevens' conviction for violating disclosure on his home (word to Sen. Obama... what's good for the goose is good for the gander) probably means he doesn't survive.

But even without the super-majority... with Senators like Chuck Hagel ,Susan Collins , Richard Lugar ,Arlen Specter , Olympia Snowe and sometimes John McCain , Lindsay Graham, and other members of the Republican side of the "gang of 14 " in the ranks of so called Republicans... The Democrats really don't need a super majority to pass their agenda. Much of it will be passed even with a McCain Presidency.
