Shower turns on by itself even though it is off
    Hi,

My shower is fine, doesn't leak, turns off properly, but a few times everyday it kind of spurts out a few seconds of bursts of water and then goes back to no leaks, turned off. Does anyone have any ideas, why it is doing this and how I can stop it? It has been recently renovated.

    Cheers
    Rory:)

What type of shower valve are we talking about? One handled or two knobs? The brand name? Its age? What's the PSI in your house? Back to you, Tom

You have either high water pressure - or more likely Thermal Expansion problem.

    Solution:
    1. Measure water pressure. If high, adjust down to 45-50 psi.
    2. If Thermal Expansion: Set your water heater to 125F and install Thermal Expansion tank.
