    Need Roommate Gone ASAP!
I own my house in Virginia. I have rented the upstairs room to an ex-coworker. There was no written lease agreement made, just a verbal agreement that he would pay a set amount each month. Some problems have arrised and I want him to move out, and I have very good reasons. Since there was never a written lease agreement, do I have to provide him with a written notice of eviction?

Yes, you must give him a written notice that his tenancy is terminated. If he is supposed to pay rent on a monthly basis then you have to give him a 30 day notice. If he hasn't left at the end of the 30 day period then you can file a lawsuit for eviction.

Any idea where I can find a good generic eviction notice?

"Please be advised that your tenancy is hereby terminated, effective November 30, 2008. You must vacate the premises on or before that date."
