You posted on 4 1/2 year old post...

Is your toilet installed on the wall ? Like Geberit wall hung toilet ? Or is it conventional toilet that seats on the floor ? Are you on slab or raised foundation ?

I suspect you and your GC have to synchronize your terminology. Conventional toilets are all built the same, with same type of trap. I never heard anybody referring to toilet bowl as having "P" or "S" trap.

But if I looked at a conventional toilet, the built-in trap looks like "S" trap.

Wall Hung and Conventional floor toilets - have two completely different rough-ins. It is huge mess to switch it over from one to another. I cannot imagine doing it after tile is installed...

Milos correct. A regular toilet has a internal "S" trap while a wall hung toilet has a internal "P" trap. If your contractor roughed you in for a wall hung toilet why in the world is he asking you to convert to a regular toilet and why wasn't a regular toilet roughed in the first place? Regards, Tom
