    DV Charges
I'm scared me and my husband got in a fight we have a six month old son and I wouldn't let my husband leave with him (fear he wasn't coming back) well my motherly instinks kicked in and when he tried to leave I hit him and tackled him to the ground well he called the police and they took me to jail for just wanting my baby now I have a court date and I'm scared to death and just need to know
If it a first offense am I going to serve more jail time?
Do I have to take classes?
How much are the fees going to be if any?
What do they do in those cases?
Is what I did so wrong?

Yes, the father has equal rights to have the child, you have no legal rights to stop him physcially.

Reverse this and he tackle you and hit you, he would be looking at jail time, several thousand dollars in fines, anger management classes and more.

    You could get the same,

This is very serious, it can stop you from having many jobs, the domestic violence rating of the crime makes the punishment stricter. You can not get a gun permit, you can not be a police officer or security guard, it will keep you out of some medical fields and more.

So yes this is very serious.
