    Confused about if I'm pregnant!
Hi, this past week I've just been having weird symptoms of pregnancy. I had my period sept 17th. And it came a week late oct. 22nd but this month it was so light and today,Friday, I'm wearing like a pantyliner. I had unprotected sex with my fiancé during what they call the "fertile week" and when I'm guessin I would be ovulating, but he pulled out (and I know this method is pointless!) but I've been SO tired to where I didn't go to class today because I didn't have the energy to get up. I've been peeing more around like every hour! I also get like this headache to wear I'm lightheaded or nauseous, and my tummy is kind of bloated. I'm super emotional which is weird because I never get ANY pms symptoms except for cramping the first day or my period.

So I was convinced I was pregnant went out and bought a test. I took it Friday oct 17th (2 days after my period was SUPPOSED to come) and then a week later Friday oct 24th and BOTH WERE NEGATIVE! Ugh this is so confusing because I FEEL weird you know? I FEEL like something's not right.

If anyone could give me any advice that would be great! Oh and were kind of hoping to get pregnant :)

I'd give it another week or so and try another test if you are still feeling as though something is up. You could always see your doctor for a test as well, but they often will do just a urine test anyway. You could call first and see if it would be possible to have a blood test done.

Is there any reason why you can't make an appointment with your Ob/Gyn? You say that you guys are hoping to get pregnant; so why aren't you two at the doctor's office holding hands and waiting for more accurate resuts? Did you know that from the time the egg is fertilized by a sperm and implants in the uterine wall until the eighth week, the developing infant is referred to as an embryo. During the embryonic period, the organs and systems are fundamentally formed. Did you also know that in 14 weeks you have a fully developed fetus? One of the causes of pre-mature birth and congenital health problems is a lack of prenatal care. Seems like if you guys are that exicited, you would want the best for your baby.

First of all the urine test that are conducted by a licensed physician is just a tad bit more extensive than a plain clear blue easy!!

A blood test is even more accurate than a urine test.

Having said that, I'd do as DoulaC says, wait another week and then retest. If it's still negative you can always go to your doctor then.

Do remember, pregnancy symptoms and PMS are very similar.

    Good luck.

Interesting enough, they really aren't any more sensitive than many of the ones women can purchase themselves.

Doula, I really like how you handled that potentially hostile situation. You really have class. ;)

"Potentially hostile situation?????" Well, assuming that you know me... hostility is a form of anger, internal rejection or denial. In everyday speech it is more commonly used as a synonym for anger and aggression. In psychological terms, George Kelly defined hostility as the willful refusal to accept evidence that one's perceptions of the world are wrong. Instead of reconsidering, the hostile person attempts to force or coerce the world to fit their view, even if this is a forlorn hope, and however harmful the cost...
An example of hostility just in case I've lost you somewhere along the way is, a person who repeats the same pattern or tells the same story over and over, seeking validation or approval or success when it is already doomed to failure or the rest of the world has moved on.

Lil, I hope you found the answers you desired. I know this time can be rather confussing and frustrating. That is why sites such as this are great... and the advice from those with a pure heart and honest intent is very much appreciated.
