Hi everyone, what a great site! I found this while doing a Google search.
We are wanting to paint our old baseboards in our house. They are a bit rusty so I'm sure I'll need to do some kind of sanding. I just have no idea where to start or what to paint them with. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I used a high heat paint which was marketed for use on wood stoves and other heat accessories. (from a big box home improvement store)

I used a high quality latex enamel on mine and they are holding up great after one winter. I was told to let them dry thoroughly before turning them back on.

You can use any latex paint,it will stand up to the heat pretty good.Rads get hot but look at your walls painted with latex paint,the sun shines threw and it gets hot also and stands up to the heat for many years.Another good paint is tremclad,comes in lots of coulours and can be bought in high heat aplications.

Sand to remove loose rust. Wipe clear and paint with a rust inhibitor primer.

Paint finish any be any good quality interior grade paint.
