I have ben in a relationship with this man for 3 years in which time we lived together for one year after my son was born.

We broke up due to his drinking habits and he moved out. Though he still used to come around.

He later told me that his former girlfriend who he had a baby with before we met and had another baby with when we were living togther moved in with him.

I have tried to encourage him to have a relationship with his son but it seems that he is not interested. My son already knows him and he keeps asking me where the dad is.

My question is what do I do to get over him and move on with my life as I have a baby to take care of, and how do I get my baby to forget about his father?

It's sad that he don't want anything to do with his son, in the end he will get what's coming to him for that.

The only thing can do is be there more for your child and give him all the love he needs. How old is he? He might not forgot his father and you never know what long term effect this would've on him.

Him not wanting anything to do with his son is even reason for yout to get over him. Keep busy by doing things with your son. Also, even though the courts can't force him to have a relationship with his child, they can force him to pay child support so make sure he help support your child fiancially. You need that and your son deserves that too.

How old is your child? Your response to his question need to be age appropriate, and not emotional, and child support is in order. Keep your life focused on your child, and yourself, and be good to you both. Build a life around each other, and be happy with it.
