Can sociologists conduct exerimental designs ? And if you know this could you please give me some examples?:confused:
From Sociology 371 -- Research Methods --
"The experimental design is not often used by sociologists. Rather, it is in psychology, where there is greater concern for internal validity, that we are more likely to find the experimental approach. That is not to say that sociologists are unconcerned with issues of internal validity, but sociology tends to emphasize issues of external validity and generalizability. This disciplinary emphasis seems to preclude the use of experimentation by most sociologists."
I have a master's in psych and was very surprised to read the information on the link I posted above. I hope you got enough help. Please Google some good keywords for more help.
Ya,sociologist highly apply experimental design to accomplish any kind of things.Among the most important criteria to be a sociologist is using experimental and empirical design to obtain an authentic fed back.As we all know that, societal issue couldn't be solved via haphazard manner rather it requires empirical evidences.
