I live in cal for 5 years in one building.I deposit the security for one month . Landlord never told me that I require one month notice to vacate the apt.
I remain unemployed for 3 month and got job in Arizona state I have to leave the appt soon . The lanlord deducted 18 days rent

If you did not give 30 day notice, yes it is perfectly correct

Your not working or your having to move has nothing to do with this at all,
Your agreement with the renter is all

Did you have a written lease? It would have stated how much notice you were to give. If it didn't say, then whatever CA law says.

30 days is very standard.
As Fr_Chuck told you, your employment status, etc, has no bearing on following the lease and laws.
