I am the mother of this child, recently I found out that she
Does not want to give me back my son. She was a friend who I
Trusted to help me with my child. I wrote a letter for
Temporary custody. I also found out that the dyfs open up a case
Because she took the letter to dyfs.

She keeps my child away on purpose some times to make things look
Bad. I have been raising my other children who been living with
Me all my life. I spoke to 2 attorneys already . One attorney
Told me that it would be about $ 1,000 for the case.

1. She left the state with my child and then came back.
2. She is acting more of a stranger than a friend.
3. There is no blood relation between her and my child.
4. The case is in dyfs .

Does any one have any opinions ?

Yes, get an attorney! Have the attorney contact DYFS and find out the status of this case. You need to understand what she told DYFS and what they are investigating.

By the way that letter you gave her does not have the force of law. The ONLY way someone can get custody of a child, temporary or not, is via a court order.

So what your attorney will do, once he knows what DYFS is doing, is file a petition for a court order for her to turn your child back over to you. Unless DYFS says that you are unfit, there shouldn't be a problem with this.

Yes, you can not just "give someone custody" that letter as Scott mentioned has no legal value except to be used as evidence against you.

CFS can investigate to see if you deserted your child under their opinion.

My opinion, get the child, and take the child home and don't give the child to this women again.

Then get an attorney to answer any investigation
