:confused:Recently, I have noticed that our plumbing fixtures which are hooked straight into copper connections have a low voltage eletrical charge, it is not enough to hurt but it causes a tingling sensation when you touch them when the water is running. What can cause this, and how can it be corrected?

First of all track down that short before you start to get pin hole leaks in the copper pipes caused by electrolysis. Get a electrician in there ASAP. Let me know what he finds. Good luck, Tom

As Tom said, you have elec. Wire touching bare pipe someplace.

Also, it tells me your electrical panel is probably not grounded. Do you have a ground wire at the main elec. Panel going to the double copper rod driven to the ground and continuously connected onto cold water pipe ? If not, have it installed.

Thanks for the info guys. AS it turned out, the lower element in my water heater had a blow out in the shielding but was still heating and charging the system. I changed the element, and low and behold. No more shocking showers. Once agais, thanks for the responses.
