You know when I was a kid I heard stories of some lady who ran an upholstery business around 1777 In Philadelphia. Allegedly she grabbed some Red white and blue fabric made them into stars and stripes put them together and they called it the American Flag, But those are just rumors. I've often felt, in my more glib moment, that Bush and Cheney are "anti-American", because their policies have been so hurtful to this nation. But the more I consider it though, the more I know it's not true.

They're Americans. If we are to live in a country that doesn't descend into fear and hatred, we must assume first that they love their country too. They may be bad actors, their behavior may be destructive, but that doesn't make them anti-American.

I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the other side thinks I'm an enemy. That IS what an anti-American is, isn't it??
