My son was born at 28 weeks.. he is now a month old, almost 33 weeks gen. age.. he has been having a lot of A and B episodes after he eats, the nurses told me that it was nothing to worry about, but I don't know... the nurses think I'm a little crazy for worring about him so much, but he is my little boy.. my question is will he grow out of this before he comes home? And what exactly are apena moniters they said we might have to bring him home on one...

My nephew was a premie and he had a lot of surgery after being born. Thanks to the Ronald McDonald hospital, he pulled through, he is 14 now. He out grew apnea and the apnea monitor will monitor his breathing. Here is a site I found for you that you should look at.
Apnea of Prematurity

Having episodes soon after a feed is not uncommon so that may be the reason why the nurse was not overly concerned. It's certainly understandable that you would be worried as it is not something you are around everyday and it effects your child. Do they have him on caffeine to help?
The monitor will let you know when he has any episodes of decreased respiration or heartrate. They can offer tremendous peace of mind, even with the occasional misread. How long he stays on one will be determined by the number of episodes and how long he goes without having one... for either situation.
Many parents will keep using it for awhile longer even when the doctor has given the OK to stop just for the peace of mind as it can become difficult to wean yourself off relying on it.
As his system matures, he will rely on it less and less... you will be adjusting his age for quite sometime and that is important as most babies his age are still having the benefit of that maturation occurring with the assistance of mom's body.

I'm not sure if he is still on caffeine or not.. I have to ask.. other than his episodes he is doing well.. just tiny..

If you don't mind me asking, what was the reason the doctors told you for the early delivery? I am pregnant and curious. I am very sorry to hear what you are going through. I am very happy for you that he has come into this world healthy enough to survive. God bless. :)

Hi I had my son at 27 weeks weghing 2 lbs 11 ounces he can home one week before my due date he then weighed 5 pounds he came home on a apnena monitor it is just a monitor to let u know if his heart rate goes down or up or if he stops breathing he also had a lot of trouble eating he is now 2 and weighs 22 pounds and doing good just a little behind not really though he is just now starting to walk but so so good execpt of really bad astsma but growing out of that to well good luck and enjoy your little mircale let us know how he grows and how he is doing

I had a molar pregnancy.. I was hospitlized when I was 23 weeks and had him at 28 weeks.. I was a very lucky girl..

Then you did not have a "true" molar pregnancy. A true molar pregnancy does not end up with a baby.

I had a plancenta aroubtion at15 weeks andit just got worse they said I would have him early think god he waited until then at 20 weeks they thouoght I was in labor and going to deliver a still born I am so glad to have my little boy he is are miricale

My dr called it a molar pregnancy with normal baby.. I had a baby in one sac. And a complete mole in the other..
