OK,here is the story.When I was 16,My girlfriend got pregnant.I told the courts that he was mine and they ordered child support.I am 35 now.I didn't see him for the first four years so I stopped paying support.Then she came to me and told me that she was getting married and wanted me sign papers for he new man to adopt him.I told her OK.She diapered for almost 16 years,I never knew where they were or anything.I owe all that support.I was on ephedra for about 10 years and it caused me to go into kidney failure and I got into a class action lawsuit against ephedra.I just got my settlement check and put it into a bank and me and my girlfriend just put a bid in on a house and we are going to pay cash for it.They took our offer today.The question is,should I worry about the gov. freezing my account.It is personal injury money.Can they take it?Thanks for your help.I am so lost with this.Thank you! Yes of course you will owe years and years of back child support payments, if she decides to come after you ( or if she ever got welfare and the state came after you, they may garnish your pay, take your drivers license away ifyou don't set up good payment arrangements and garnish your bank accounts. ** not everything in every state but this is in general what they can or could do.

So yes they could freeze your bank accounts if they wanted to.
