You can look online at most county websites to see if a marriage license was taken out. I can do this in the county where I presently live. You have to know the county that they were married in or got their marriage license issued though for this to work. You could look at the surrounding counties where you live to see if they have a website and then look at that. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
