    Honda Accord 92 timing belt
    Hello,
I bought Honda Accord 92 from Carmax at 68,000 miles. It is now 102,000 miles. Is the timing belt due at this time. I am not sure if the previous owner changed the timing belt or not.

    Thanks
    Jay

Re: Honda Accord 92 timing belt
Timing belts should be checked at 100,000 klm. Honda recommends changing the belt at 90,000 miles or about 160,000 klm. The time and effort to check the belt is about the same as changing it so don't bother to inspect it but change it. A broken belt can be an expensive deal what with towing and possible valve damage (not sure if the valves will contact the piston on your engine)
