All right I read a lot of posts with how unreliable the Hunter (model 44110) is, but, I already got this one going at the same time I am doing a Honeywell. (I just asked asked that question separately.) Ok, once again, I have only two wires (black and white) and there are three possibilites for these two simple wires. G, Y, and W are the spots in the new Hunter. Which goes where. I have read through a ton of other "questions and answers" and no one seems to have anything this simple. Thanks

No one knows where the two black wires go and what those two black wires control that is why it is impossible to answer your question properly. You will need to sound the wires out first to identify each one separately and then where each one goes in the circuit and what each one controls. What is the brand and model of the unit this thermostat operates?

Black and white raises suspicians that it could be a line voltage stat.

Is it just for heat or heat and cool or just for cool?

If heat and cool is the mode switch located at the furnace?

Is the fan switch locate at the furnace?

It can't be the "G" terminal.

Keep it simple stupid. Sometimes I feel helpless here like in this video. LOL

That is so funny. I think I have the first TV pictured. I have 2 TV's that have a Channel 1 on them. Not in use. Guess, I'm waiting for that eBay moment.

It is heat only for a hot water baseboard furnace.

Do you mean a hot water boiler?

On a 24 volt system R and W terminals control the heat.

You better check your voltage since it has been mentioned the white and black wires you have usually indicate a 120/240 volt system and in that case the thermostat you have will not work.
