Im writing to ask why my furnace keeps lockingout. I bleed it and it runs one cycle and then it won't run again until I reset and bleed it again. I have tighted all fittings and stopped all leaks. Now Im not sure if the eye is aligned. It is a brand new home with a new furnace. Any suggestions?

A brand new home with a new furnace should be under warranty by the builder or the HVAC company that installed the furnace.

You might think you have stopped the leaks but if the air leak is on the suction side of the pipe it will still shut down. It has been known the fuel oil pump seal can be defective from the factory allowing air to be sucked in around the shaft seal area.

The newer Beckett high efficiency burners are sensitive to the adjustments for the burner also. I suggest you read the owners manual for the burner or obtain one from Beckett. The sensor placement,electrode gap,nozzle position,and pump pressure all need to be maintained in order for it to perform correctly.

Over the years I have found many air leaks at the flare fittings especiall at the oil filter cartridge. Also at the pump access fittings. It could also be that the installer did not do a proper start up and check out as required by Beckett. This can cause major problems in the future. If you do not know what you are doing please call for a ON SITE inspection of your system by a professional. It may cost a few $$$ but it will be money well spent since when a burner is not operating properly it will cost you big $$$ on your oil bill.
