I have a craftsman tractor, model 917.271061, the deck belt broke and there's not enough left to get a number off or to measure. I have no manual, and need to know the belt length and width to get a new one.

I can't find an aftermarket replacement, but the belts and diagram is available at www.searspartsdirect.com.

The Craftsman number that sears shows is 144959. That crosses to a Gates number 6432BR. The BR after the number denotes their Blade Runner series. It is their Lawn and Garden belts. I get them at my local Auto Parts store. They are much cheaper than the OEM.
