What will the 1000 years of peace be like?
What will the 1000 years of peace be like?
Obviously with Jesus ruling there will be some changes as to what the world is like today.
Here is just one think to ponder.
Banks as we know them now will cease to exist.
    Why?
Because the bible tells us that it is a no-no to charge interest on money that is lent out to others.
Back during the time Jesus walked this earth several societies forbid the charging of interest and two of them were the Jews and the new Christians.
Charging interest was considered to be not charitable.
A person who had enough wealth to lend money could do so but not charge interest.
As Jesus said much is expected of those who have much.
So during the 1000 years of peace there will be no credit cards or banks as we know them.
Think about the economic upheaval that will affect the society we have today!!
What other changes can you think of that will take place?
    :)Peace and kindness,:)

We will do the work we were meant to do and it will be for the good of all.
    For the good of all.
The bankers that swindled the world with their usery will be crowded just outside the walls trying to trade a Rolex for a biscuit.
Not a biscuit will they get. Nor another dime of interest.

    John Lennon, Imagine.
No more religions. We would be living in Ultimate Reality. Ultimate Reality is not a religion. There is no disease, war, poverty and the like. These are simply all man made things, like religion. Some from greed and some from ignorance. When your eyes have been opened, the illusion is gone.
Come on Jesus! What you waiting for my Lord?

The lion will get along with the lamb. You will be able to walk the streets, sit in your home, etc without having to lock your doors!

John Lennon believed in himself.. He wrote a song according to that belief. He also wrote as quoted:

As for the question Fred has posted.. I believe the change will be found in the hearts and mind of people. This will be by the feeding of "The Word".
A world of answers without question, thus without doubt...
A love of "The Word" is eternity

I believe in myself only because GOD is in me. Nothing or no one can mess with me as long as I stay true to the word. When I take my eyes off the word, Jesus, I am in deep serious trouble. That is where the world is this moment. They have their eyes on the gold ring and not on Jesus.

I don't disagree with you on that... choice in treasure for people today is plainly being seen in the effect of reap what we have sown. We are spoiled in our abuse of credit debt, and have become in bondage to this sinful choice.

However this is the grey area, John Lennon was not a believer of Christ.

    Off the thread...

There would have to be justice for all.

Some people can't be lesser people, while others dominate them. Peace means equality and justice for women, people of color, and so on.

    No, none are as God.

    Our Wisdom

Colossians 2:2-3 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

    Wisdom Come From God
1 Corinthains 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

    Stay in Christ

Isa 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

    Thanks for your answer but...
The passages you provided are for us folks of this life not the next.
I think that when we join with God "in God" that we will be far more knowledgeable than we are now.
How much more is the question.
    Peace and kindness,

That is very possible because during the 1000 year of peace will be a feeding of THE WORD.. We should indeed be more knowledgeable after that time frame. But still never as knowledgeable as God. (HE is all)

I think changes will include our energy source. I don't see us burning fossil fuels.
    Transpotation will be completely safe.
The Earth will produce many times more foodstuffs than now.
There will be no disease, and in fact no death unless as punishment for some crime.
    Entertainment will be COMPLETELY different.
Technology will progress beyond our wildest dreams.
No one will be in want.
The saints from Abel to the last overcomer will be in positions of authority under Jesus Christ.
World government will be headquartered in Jerusalem.

If this is the point at which our bodies have changed, we'll have no more need of food.

Also, I'm looking forward to complete love. We'll really treat each other as we would be treated.

We'll only be as knowledgeable as god lets us, because we are one with him in spirit, and his spirit is what speaks to our minds.

Well, about food. In Revelation we have a description of New Jerusalem, and at least one fruit tree is mentioned, the tree of life. Of course, the original question deals with the Millennium, during which time ordinary mortal people will live here on Earth.
