    Moving the toilet and more!
    Help!
I'm remodeling the bath and would like to change the layout.
Current Layout:Toilet and bath on east wall w/ 3" DWV stack. Single bowl vanity on west wall with 2" DWV stack.
Desired Layout: On the west wall I'd like to make the vanity a double bowl and move the toilet to the west wall. On the east wall, I'd like to put in a bathtub and a small shower stall.
Below are links to photos of the current plumbing now that it's down to the studs.

Questions for the new layout: 1) Toilet: Is it possible to make an almost 7 ft run from the west wall to the east wall where the 3" DWV is and use the west wall 2" vent from the vanity? And, will it weaken the joists too much to make that run (provided the pitch is OK)? 2)Vanity: based on the pic, can I make the single a double? Do I need two DWV's, or can I just Tee off the present DWV?
Hope this all makes sense... Thanks in advance!

Yes, and here's how I would do it.
Toilet connects to yhe stack vent. Lavatory connects to toilet drain and runs a vent off the top the stubout tee out the roof or revents back into a dry vent in the attic.. The toilet wet vents through the lavatory vent and the tub and shower will connect to the lavatory drain with a wye and will be wet vented by it. The vent off the lavatory may be run out the roof or revented back into a dry vent in the attic or if you're reventing back into a fixtures dry vent you must make your connection at least 6 inches over that fixtures flood rim.

I'm hoping vthe joists run the same way the drains will run if not then you may have a problem.

You have options here. You may wye off from the stubout and pick up your lavatories with two traps **or** you can use just one trap and install a contentious waste,(see image) between the two lavs. Your choice. Good luck, tom
