    Porcelain used outdoors and repairs
I am building an outdoor kitchen and want to use an antique cast iron porcelain kitchen sink, will it hold up outdoors? I also have another sink just like it that has about a 3 inch round chip that needs repair, is it worth repairing and where do I begin looking for someone to do the work or can I do it at home? Thanks.

So your outdoor kitchem will be plumbered, where do you live? Does it freeze ever? The porcelein will be fine outside but the under side should get a good coat of paint. The chip can be covered by applying automotive Bondo putty and then sand and feather. Paint the entire sink with Rust-oleums Tile-N-Tub paint, it's a 2 part epoxy that dries very, very hard. Be sure to ventilate when you use this paint.

Thanks for your quick reply! I will give it a good coat of paint underside, thanks. Also will try the bondo and tub and tile paint on the other sink. Yes it does freeze here, we will have to have it where we can prevent the water lines from freezing as well as the drain. Thanks again.

Once it start to get really cold you probably won't be using it anyway. Blow out the suplly lines and add antifreeze to the trap and you'll be good until Spring.
