Hello all you pet lovers! I have a beautiful family german short hair going on 8 yrs.. she is still in great shape likes swimming and running ( I don't wear her out) anyway she is healthy but likes to sneeze in the morning.. which is okay but she also clears her muzzle or throat , it sounds like a huffing as if trying to clear something in her nose or throat.. is there any concern for her health or is this typical as dogs grow older? Is this a seizer thing or what and is there a remedy? Thanks in advance!

My dogs used to do this all the time. It does not make any difference how old or how big the dog is. My 14 lb Jack Russell does this all the time. Nothing to worry about.

Thank you for a quick reply, my sister found some online info.. it is common and not threatening.. something to do with a fleshy membrane on the roof of their mouths that can be irritated by a number of things like perfumes allegeries etc, it is a reaction that causes what is referred to reverse sneezing. Thanks again.
