I currently hold a South African and German passport(I have dual nationality)My wife(currently holds a South African passport and has a spousal visa)is expecting our first child and we currently live in the UK.Would my child automatically be entitled to a german passport?

People born to a parent who was a German citizen at the time of birth are usually German citizens on that basis. It does not matter whether they were born in Germany or not. Nor does it matter if the parent is a naturalised German.

* Those born in Germany and adopted to a foreign country should contact their local German Consulate for clarification of German citizenship.

Persons who are Germans on the basis of descent from a German parent do not have to apply to retain German citizenship by age 23. If they acquire another citizenship at birth, they can usually continue to hold this.

I was born in the US in 1982, my Mother was and still is a German citizen but a legal alien resident of the US. Also my Grandmother who has lived in the US since 1969 is still a citizen of Luxembourg. How easy would it be for me to get a German or Luxembourg Passport?

I was born in Canada 1973 and got my german passport march 2003 my daughter was born September 2003, can she still get a German passport?
