Recently a levy was placed on my bank account. I was in shock because I had no prior notice. I contact the lawyers and they had my maiden name and correct social secuirty number. But the address was incorrect. They claimed they sent the information to this address but I've never lived there. I 've always resided in the same house. Therefore, I never received the summons and complaint. How did they get a judgement, without service of a summons and complaint?

Well, there are different requirements for service for different types of cases, in different courts, etc. If this is one of those cases where they just have to post it on the door they would really have no way of knowing that they even had the wrong address (the person serving the notice, that is.)

Get in contact with the court that the judgement is from. Ask for proof of service and go from there.

Most likely you'll be able to get this case dismissed, but then you can expect them to just turn around and re-file.

I was never for service for divorced papers, proof of service was sent in on 4/26/10 she file 4/12/10 I never got papers she won by default full cust of kids and restrain orders never got divorced
