    Glue on furniture
How do I remove the glue from tape that was on my furniture when I bought it?

    Hi, carrie12!

If your furniture has a clear finish on it, either of the products, Goo Gone or Oops! Should do the trick. Goo-Gone Oops! - Google Search They can be found at most hardware and paint stores.

Before purchasing either of them, though, if the finish is really durable and the tape residue is soft and not hardened, I would suggest just trying a little bit of dish soap, warm water applied with a soft, clean rag first and rub the residue gently.

Try an alcohol pad, it will loosen up the glue that bonds with a little rubbing it will come right off.

An alcohol pad might work if the finish is fairly thick, hard and durable, such as like a person might find with polyurethanes, aged varnishes and high-solids content lacquer.

However, before using alcohol on any finish, it would be best to be testing how the finish reacts to the alcohol first, by trying it on a part of the finish that is not normally seen very well.
