Can Anyone Tell Me What I Need To Give Up My Parental Rights? Me And My Wife Are Separating And We Want Nothing To Do With Each Other.
When you don't want anything to do with each other, you file for a divorce, then you don't have to have anything to do with each other.
Nor parent rights is about your children, I know that no parent would want to walk away from their child.
So what you do is get a child custody order where you do not have to see the other when exchanging the child for visits.
Beyond that you don't give up rights, can't happen till the other one is married for a year to someone new that wants to adopt the child.
But then if you don't want to ever go see the child, don't, they can not make you, all you do is send the check in the mail each month and you never see them again.
You don't want anything to do with her so you are looking to legally abandon your kids? Whether you like or don't like their mother, they still need to eat and wear shoes.
You'll be ordered to pay support and the decision not to visit is totally up to you - you can't surrender your parental rights.
These first two posts are completely correct. All I can add is that no one will force you to visit if you don't want to see the kid you don't have to show up don't have to send cards or presents or anything but if you do want to see your child you can have a neutral drop off/pick up so that you and your ex don't see each other. You can not sign away your rights you just don't act upon them nor can you sign away your responsibilities you will still have to pay support.
