How do I initiate a search for my ex husbands checking account with child support
How much will it cost for me to have the child support agency track my ex husbands checking account. And if they do this can they do it for free?

You might want to call your local child support agency.

Most public agencies that collect child support do it for free.

You will have to get ahold of the child support office first. Is he in arrears? That is the only reason they would start an investigation like this and it usually has to be some pretty serious arrears.

If you are talking about one of the private companies that offer to locate the info and collect for you they charge an ENORMOUS percentage to do so. Several States are trying to stop them from operating because the child support arm of your local Court does the same thing, free.

These companies do not have access to any records that the Courts can't access. In fact, it's the other way around - the Courts have better access.

If you are talking about an arm of the Court, the service is free - although, as said, they almost have a backlog and don't step in in some States below a certain arrearage amount.

Why do you want it tracked ? Are you the one paying support and you want to make sure the money is making its way to the child ? If that's your question then the answer is no. They won't track his expenses to see how he is spending his money. That would take a separate order of the court.
