    Theft under $2500
I have a friend who stole her roommates credit card and spent over $2000 on it. She has confided in me and is scared of what will happen. The friends card has been put on identification check status and she does not know. Is there anyway that she can fix this without the roommate knowing. She spent all the money online and can it be traced back to her? If she can return the money without her knowing that would be great but we're not sure how. She is a college student and has never committed a crime before. If she gets caught what could happen?

No, she needs to admit what she did, and work a payment plan out with the credit card company.
And hope they will not press criminal charges.

Does anyone find it unusual that the SAME IP address has posted this (8:58PM) AND a thread concerning a stolen card, will the person who used it be caught - and what will happen to the person who stole it (9:05PM) - or I have been in "the business" too long?
