One of our toilets make a terrible noise after we flush as the water is refilling the tank. I've adjusted the intake valve to allow more water to flow in but it still makes this rumbling sound that I can even hear when I'm outside.:(

Not sure what you mean as 'fill valve'?

Remove the lid (toilet Top) and look inside compare it with pictures and tell me yor fill valve look like the left or the right one, Thanks.

The toilet noise is either from the loose washer at angle vave or the fill valve.

Here is what you need to do fist close the angle valve half a turn flush the toilet and see if sound is gone, if it is you need to replace the washer at the end of stem in angle valve.

If not fallow the following

Close the angle valve under the tank, press down the fill valve top cap and turn it counter clockwise remove the fill valve cap cover, inspect the washer for wear or cracks. If bad replace it Replacing a bad washer is cheap and easy, if you decide to hunt for a washer, remove it and take it to the store to find a match.

Before installing the washer you need to flush the fill valve, Cover the valve with your hand. Turn on the water (cautiously, so you don’t get a cold shower!) and let it flush out the valve for a few seconds.

Check the tank water level, it should be at the mark in the tank or 3/8 to 1/2" below the top of the over flow tube when the tank is filled and the ballcock shut down, see the images below will give you and idea hot to replace the seal, or if you want you can replace the whole fill velve is fluidmaster fill valve, good luck.

Hey Marc (or Jack) Noise is caused by vibration and vibration's caused by water rushing a obstruction. Try This!
Shut the water off under the tank and pop the lid. Unscrew the three screws and lift the float ball and stem assembly up and out. Pry out the washer and turn it over. Reseat it back firmly. Now hold your hand over the top of the open ballcock and have someone turn the water on o flush out the supply and ballcock body. Reassemble, making sure the small tube #5 is connected to the overflow tube, Give it a flush. How's it sound now? If you still have a noise then we'll take a hard look at the angle stop.
