    Jeep Mirror Replacement
Hi, I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the drivers door mirror has 'burned out'. I have bought a second hand one but the housing is in a poor state and I want to change the glass and all the bits behind into my existing housing - is this possible?

    Thanks in advance

The mirror glass can be removed and transferred into the other housing, but it's very delicate work. There is a chance of cracking the mirror during removal. There is also a chance that even if you do get the mirror out of the newer housing, it could crack during installation into your original housing.
I would try making the replacement as nice looking as possible and just live with it.

    Thanks CR.
The replacement housing really isn't worth using, it had a silver housing on it apparently and is covered in glue and sticky bits and is broken in places. This is why I want to change it.
