    The hymen & bleeding
    Hi,
I just lost my virginity to my boyfriend and I hear that the hymen is supposed to break and you bleed a little? But I didn't bleed so I was wondering if this is normal. However the hymen did tear and I got what looks like a little dried up blood ball which causes a lot of pain. Is that normal too? Or should I go see my gyno?

They hymen can break during any point in life, such as riding a bike, or other vigorous activities. You will not necessarily break your hymen during sex... and if bleeding occurs during sex its often due to friction. Not every girl bleeds the first time she has sex.

Sex can be painful the first time, or any other time because of a lack of lubrication.

I think its time for you to visit your GYN to talk about sex, birth control, and pregnancy so you have the correct choices and information to make informed decisions about your future.
