If you have a vaginal delivery the typical painkiller is Lortab 7.5 mg. That is our standard order in the hospital I work at. Motrin 600mg can be given in between the Lortab.

For a C-Section, our standing order is a Morphine pump that is controlled by the patient with a specific lock out amount so that the patient gets what she needs, but cannot overdose.

Wish I had the morphine pump, all I got was a Motrin 600. It was not enough, I had a c-sec.

You poor thing!! You really have gotten a rotten deal on this and several other things.

Here in the US most hospitals have a standing order for the Morphine pump that is attached directly to your IV so that there are no more needle sticks involved.

I was given Percocet 10mg when I left the hospital. While I was there they gave me the same thing, except when they put in the catheter-then they jabbed me w/morphine. I had a vaginal delivery but I had to stay for almost a week due to complications.
