    Collecting on a Promissary Note
I have a promisary note that I need to collect on, The Promissary note is a little over a year passed due, I have sent a letter to the promisee stating that it was pass due with no answer. It was a loan for a house, I have also filed the Promissary note with the City court house. The house is now up for sale, can I put a lien on the house? Or do I already have a lien on the house? I am in the state of Colorado. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

When you received the promissory note, which I assume used the home as collateral, you should have filed a lien right then.

It may not be too late. You should IMMEDIATELY go to your country clerk's office with a copy of the Note and file a lien against the property.

You then file a foreclosure proceeding against the property. If you are not the primary lienholder, this may not fly, but you try anyway.
