HP Pavilion dv4000 freezes unless pressure is applied
I've got a strange issue with my HP Pavilion dv4000... For a little over a year, it's been occasionally freezing. It freezes in a strange way, in that it seems that the computer has frozen but if I press on the lower right corner of the laptop, the computer will unfreeze. It'll even register keystrokes while frozen, then enter them after it unfreezes. It's been getting worse and worse to where I now have to keep pressure on the laptop at all times in order to keep it from freezing, and often have to bend the body to bring it back to life.

Anyone have any ideas why or what to do to fix it?

    Thanks!

It sounds like your computer has an intermittent connection (probably the keyboard connector).
Laptops are notoriously difficult to work on, as everything is crammed in so tightly. If you can find someone who is familiar with the HP laptops, the fix is probably just a matter of re-inserting the cable in the connector securely. The hard part is finding someone who is suitable for this repair. I've taken apart laptops before and it is not much fun.

    Good luck,
