When should I seek medical attention when experience bleeding after intercourse?
After intercourse, I have experienced bleeding. This has been happening for the paste couple of months. Just recently, I experienced heavy bleeding and it has been happening for about two days. I have made an appointment with my doctor, however it is not for another week. I am wondering if it is serious an enough to seek immediate medical attention, or if I should wait? Also, since going to the doctor makes me feel really uncomfortable, what should I expect? Why could possibly be causing the bleeding?

I don't think this needs IMMEDIATE medical attention but you definitely need to see your doctor, so good for you! Are you possibly going through menopause? Vaginal dryness during menopause can cause bleeding... The bleeding is most certainly a symptom of another underlying problem which could include: cervicitis, STI's, cervical polyps, cervical ectropion, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibroids, or possibly cancer. You should expect at least a pelvic examination at your OBGYN's office... maybe some blood work? Try to relax before you go and write down any questions or comments you would like to talk with your doctor about. Good luck to you; I hope all goes well :)
