    Kenmore Dryer
From reading other posts, it seems obvious that my Kenmore model 417-98802891 needs the rear drum bearing replaced, due to the high pitched squeaking. However, since it will cost me $110 just for the Sears repairman to show up, and then I don't know how much to actually repair it, plus parts, I'm wondering if anyone might know if it would be better to purchase a new one, given that the dryer itself is around 10 years old. It is a stackable, which due to space, I'd need to stay with, so it would mean buying not just the dryer but both washer and dryer. Thanks.

allende - If the dryer is that old and it is going to cost that much to repair it ,I would go with buying a new one> Check and see if a new dryer will still fit setting with the washer ,if it does then you won't have to buy bothnew. You could sell the old washer and use that money to help pay on the new one or the new set. Check with a appliance person and see if they have a used one,Or is interested in buying your old setGood luck and GOD BLESS :: F.B.E.
