Problems after Tubal Ligation
I know that the best answer to any medical condition is to see your doctor. What I am looking for here is a common ground with anyone else suffering from the same issue. I am the mother of 2 children of which resulted 2 pregnancies. When my second child was 5 I decided that I was done and weighed my options for birth control. Now because I also have lupus I considered my options very carefully. One of the worst things you can do as a lupus sufferer is put anything foreign in your body. So decided that I needed to stop taking the birth control pills and take the surgical approach. I talked it over in length with my doctor and she really didn't have anything negative to say about a tubal ligation. She said that in some cases women's periods get slightly heavier and the cramping gets a little worse but other than that no major problems. I did do some research on the internet and didn't really find anything that said absolutely do not do this. It has now been 4 years since my tubal and let me tell you that the last 3 of it have been horrible. First of all, my periods are so unbelievably heavy that I will often soak through a super absorbency tampon about every 20 to 30 minutes and have to wear a pad as well the first couple days. The cramping is so severe that it feels like the beginning and middle stages of labor often leaving me bed ridden for several hours a day. Ibuprofen does nothing for the pain. In addition to that, as if that were not bad enough, I get severe headaches for a couple days before and during my period. I get so moody for about a week before that I feel so mean I can't even stand myself. I have also started to prespire more than I ever have in my whole life. I have even tried prescription strength deoderant and that does not help. My joint pain has doubled, especially during my period. I often have bleeding between periods as well and its bright red. I have contacted my doctor several times in the past few years and each time she has checked me out to make sure there is not an underlying issue and each time tells me there is nothing wrong. I have done some research and have narrowed most of my symptoms down to what could be endometriosis. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to have surgery. Which I can not afford that expense right now as my insurance won't cover 100%. I have found that there are several women who are suffering the same symptoms after a tubal and are being told the same things by their doctors, that there is nothing wrong with them. Does it sound like there is nothing wrong?? I think not. Do any of you women suffer from this? What do I do. My surgery is not reversible, because believe me that was a consideration of mine. My doctor, cut and burned so I can not have it reversed. I need to know if there is hope? :(
