how can i find the whereabouts of my father and his number?
my name is ashley spurgeon and my father left me ,my mother, and my brother when I was 4 and I am now 13 and I don't have any contat with him but I am trying to do everything in my power to find him because he doesn't pay child support and thanks to him its going to be very hard to afford much of anything, I really need to find him. His name is james edward spurgeon I believe he is in Kentucky,I think he is in between the ages of 40-52, I'm not really sure and he has lied about every promise he has made to me and my brother and now that I am a teen and I can stand up to him I need to let him know how I feel and how all this has affected me and my family, I would appreciate it so much if u could help me find him and I don't have a lot of money as I said so it would need to be free. If u could help me find him then I would be so gratefull, thanks =]

You do realize you can do nothing, that only your mother can file for support.

If he's born in 1969-1970 (which it appears he was) it might be 50 Harris Linville Rd, Somerset, KY 606-274-1391 or 606-378-5252 (same person, two names).

Please be aware this could be very hurtful for you.

With the information you have provided there is a definite link between you. He does currently reside in Kentucky. Once again I am torn between supplying this type of information on someone who may wish not to be found. With you being a minor please understand that I know the hurt and pain this situation has caused but this request should be handled by an adult. I can only suggest dialing information and asking for his listing.

Also, Are you sure of the age group you have him listed in?

I have posted this same concern on several other occasions; however, the information continued to be researched and posted. Despite my concerns.

Do I think this is a dangerous and potentially explosive or painful situation? Yes.

I have also been concerned that some of the info posted on this thread comes from confidential sources - a licensed private investigator could not access some of the info without a signed consent (of course, I'm speaking about the US) and it came from somewhere.

Again - I think there should be a policy, particularly when minors are involved but how would you know without asking and would anyone tell the truth?

Exactly. This is where I am torn. I have had answers edited due to posting too much information. And I do understand that some people, for their own reasons, have decided to simply disappear. But on the other hand, if the OP had the knowledge of which free sites to search they could access the same information which I can provide. So, whether you find it on your own or I assist you in finding the answer, the information is acquired. Who decides where the line should be drawn?

I know - I was concerned enough about my involvement that I asked my Attorney. Some day there is going to be case law but right now there is not.

In person I cannot locate someone (and I will not) without a written, signed letter authorizing me to do so. The Dentist who ran over her husband (accidentally, 5 or 6 times) based on info from the LPI scared everybody half to death.

But my concern is that if the question isn't answered appropriately or properly by someone with knowledge on how to search, incorrect info can and will be posted, people go off on wild goose chases, pay money for very inaccurate info, incorrect people are called and their entire household is upset. I don't know what the answer is.
