    Hello,my garage door spring is broken I got sectional garage door and the spring is on the top.can I fix it myself and how thank you

    There are places that you can get the parts
    (lowes-HomeDepot) They also have books on fixing and installing garage doors.

    Is there 2 springs? One on each side. If so, it would be wise to change both springs. This will keep the door better balanced. Install springs with door in up/open position.

    Older spring will stretched out a bit from use.

    Be sure to run a cable through spring as a safety feature to keep spring from falling if it breaks in the future. Hook cable to spring mount at back of door and to door track frame at front.
