I need to reduce 14 volts dc to 12 volts dc ,I have seen on another forum they is a component I can solder between the output feed to the connection like a fuse type thing,can anyone help asap please

I wish I knew the context and the current required. LDR's or Low Dropout Regulators are capable of doing this with great precision.
But I don't know if we are talking about powering a device that requires 30 amps at 12V or 100 mA at 12V or how sensitive the device is to power fluctuations or what environment the 14 V is.
Silicon diodes can drop the voltage about 0.6V per diode.
U can try using a resistor
