I have a ge washer that will not shut off the water when filling. The model number is WDSR2080. Does anyone know what part it is that needs to be repaired? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Underneath the washer is the pump, directional flow valve and it sounds as if something is caught in it. Empty the tub, tilt washer back and a screwdriver or nutdriver will loosen the hoses leading to it. There is a flapper valve in it and something caught in the valve will cause this; I saw a coffee stirrer in one once doing it. At any rate the vale is not shutting properly. I is roundish and about 6-8 inches in diameter. Look for where the rubber hoses join it.
