I just got a perm a couple days ago. Is it smart to die my hair?

I wouldn't advise colouring your hair. It is already pretty stressed from the perm solutions.

But will it flatten out if I do?

No it won't flatten out, it will become dryer, making it more puffy. You have to start using a good deep conditioner to get it back in shape.
