    Conflict of interest?
I went to court today for a careless driving ticket in NJ( written at the scene at an accident). Where both partys were written tickets. I am pleading NOT GUILTY(I have a lawyer). I found out today that my lawyer is also representing the other party too. Can this be done?? I am a little concerned. The other party wasn't in court today(didn't show).

You are facing the State and not the other guy in your reckless driving ticket so yes the lawyer can represent both of you. If you were sueing each other that would be a nother matter.

Happens all the time in traffic court. Same lawyer for both people. Possibly he didn't have an accident report in front of him to realize that you/they were in the same accident together.
