    Average Speed and Velocities
Hi I'm stuck on a math problem and I'm not even sure how to figure this out.
    It says

A women runs from her home and back, covering a total of 4 miles in 1/2 hours.what is her average speed and average velocity?
    A- 4mi/hr,4mi/hr
    B-8mi/hr,4mi/hr
    C-4mi/hr,0mi/hr
    D-8mi/hr,0mi/hr

    I think its C?
    I'm not sure though

    average speed is

    total distance traveled/time

so, 4 miles over 0.5 hours

    4/0.5 = 8

    average velocity is

    total displacement/time

if she went somewhere and came back to her original spot, her displacement is 0.

    thus

    0/0.5 = 0

Average speed is distance over time/ distance divided by time... :p oh yeah!
