    No sound
    I have a Hp Pavilion 542x model which recently crashed. I did not have the recovery discs so I had to boot off an XP pro disc I had. Everything is working fine now except for the fact that I have no sound and I don't know where to get the drivers from. I know the sound card is integrated into the mother board but don't know what kind it is, can anyone help. In the device manager the multimedia audio has a yellow question mark and XP advises that it can not locate the drivers on the web.

    Drivers for speakers are typically separate (even when they come with the computer). Locate the driver disk for them or download/install the drivers from the manuf. Site. That should take care of you.

    If finding the disk or driver site is not a snap, let us know the manuf. Name and model # of the speakers.
