    Toshiba Laptop won't start
I have a Satellite A135-s4656. I have had it a year and 3 days. I had it sent in for repair about 3 months ago because it kept shutting down and then not restarting for 3 or 4 days would run fine for like half hour then do the same thing again. When they repaired it they said it was a static problem. When I got it back it worked till yesterday. Any ideas? Is it the hard drive I can get into BIOS but nothing beyond that.

Any chance still in warranty or did that run out 3 days ago?

Try resetting the BIOS defaults to see if that would make a difference.

Try restarting with just the battery and not plugged in

Also try removing the battery and plugged in

What happens when you start it up and do not go into BIOS

The warranty ran out and they won't fix it unless pay for it of course. Tried reseting the bios and can reset the defults when it starts us the rest of the time the hard drive won't even spin up. Is the hard drive bad?

But you can get into the BIOS

After you start and it starts booting, does anything come up at all on the screen, is the green hard drive light lit or flashing while booting - any signs of life

It sounds like I am having the same problem. I recently replaced the a/c adapter because my computer kept shutting down and not charging. Now my USB ports are not recognizing any devices.
Try taking the battery out and unplugging the computer. Then replace and power on. Not a permant fix but works for a while.
I am actually hearing buzzing coming from my adapter now great!!

Did you replace adapter with one made for that particular unit?

Did you get into bios setup and reset defaults?

Check all the power settings in bios for anything that you may question
