How can my husband adopt my daughter.
My husaband is trin to adopt my 4 year old daughter. Her bio father has visition rights but has chosen not to see her in over 2 years. He is well aware of where we live I on the other hand have no idea where he is. He recently started paying child support but still owes in back payments. He is also not on her birth certific. How does my husband go about adopting my daughter.

Child support has nothing to do with adoption.

In order to adopt you need the consent of the father. He is paying support but you don't know where he is? The Court - or the office receiving the child support - would know.

If you can't find him you would have to publish a notice in a newspaper which meets whatever the guidelines for your local Court are.

If he's paying support I would guess there's been DNA testing so whether he's on the birth certificate doesn't matter.

You can always just ask the father - he might be happy to be out from under a child support order and may very well agree.
